The FAIR Data Fair is the benchmark event in Catalonia on the management and reuse of research data in line with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable).
Organised by the CSUC, always in collaboration with Catalan universities and research centres, the event is a meeting space to share experiences, knowledge, best practices and real-life cases on how to create, organise and reuse data efficiently and openly.

The fourth edition will take place on 18 June 2026 at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona, and is jointly organised with the URV, the ICAC, the IPHES, the ICIQ, the IRB Cat Sud and the IRTA.
The third edition was held on 18 June 2025 at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) in Barcelona, and focused on the challenges of making research data truly reusable. Under the slogan “Fear FAIR Data?”, the event explored the limits and opportunities of applying the FAIR principles, shared institutional experiences and the research staff perspective, and was complemented by practical workshops on anonymisation, data structuring and interoperability.
The second edition was held on 11 June 2024 at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona. The event delved into the relationship between open science and data management, with an opening session dedicated to the European strategy and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The programme was rounded off with experiences in data curation and data management support, as well as a round table with research staff from different fields. The Fair concluded with practical workshops on data cleaning with OpenRefine and on artificial intelligence.
The first edition was held on 15 June 2023 at the University of Barcelona (UB) in Barcelona. The event laid the foundations for the Fair as a forum for exchange on research data management, with an opening session on the path towards FAIR data and several contributions on data services, data management plans for doctoral studies, and institutional strategies. In the afternoon, practical workshops were organised for institutions working with the data repository.
